About

Who we are, what the pack touches on your machine, and how updates reach you.

Position

OPERATOR ships no mod tools. There's no SDK, no editor and no documentation. Everything in this pack was built without them.

ODG is a small group of players making mods for OPERATOR. A hundred and four developer builds went by before the first public one: seventeen mods and six maps. None of it is official, and we have no connection to the developers or publishers of the game.

Why it exists

Nobody is
paid for this.

There is no studio behind ODG and nobody drawing a wage from it. OPERATOR ships no mod tools, so Archduke and the people around him worked every part of it out from the outside, with no SDK, no editor and no documentation to start from. It gets made for love of the game and for nothing else.

Archduke spent release day awake for thirty-three hours straight. Over a thousand lines of code went in on that one day, getting the last of it working. Then it went out free, the way the hundred and four builds before it were always going to.

What you should know

A

It stays in the Mods folder

The pack installs into the game's Mods folder and nowhere else. It doesn't edit game files or your save. Delete the Mods folder and the game is back to stock.

B

Same version for co-op

Everyone in a lobby needs the same pack version. The launcher shows it at the top. Start the launcher and let it finish updating before you host.

C

Map data downloads once

The first run pulls about 1.3 GB of map data on top of the pack. Updates after that are small, because the maps aren't downloaded again.

D

Updates are automatic

The launcher updates itself first, then the pack, every time it starts. After an update it lists anything older versions left behind and asks before deleting it.

E

When it breaks, send the log

Click SOMETHING BROKE? at the bottom of the launcher. It lists the log files on your machine and says which one to send. Attach it to a report and you'll get a ticket number back.

F

Unofficial

ODG is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the developers or publishers of OPERATOR. Every trademark belongs to its owner.

How it reaches you

One launcher,
one click,
no folders.

You don't need to know what a mod loader is. The launcher checks the game folder, installs what's missing, pulls the current pack, unpacks the maps and starts the game.

What ships is what was tested. The pack mirrors the game folder, so the files on your machine are the same files we play with.
